Amigurumi Star Keychain Holder - Raffamusa Designs

In this post, we’ll see a basic crochet pattern to crochet a little Amigurumi star.

Depending on the yarn and hook you use, you can expect a star between 2″-3″ (5-7.5 cm). However, once you understand how the basic construction of the star works, you can easily adapt the pattern to make smaller or larger stars.

Crocheting a flat star is a pretty easy task, which takes literally a few minutes!

On the other hand, making a 3D Amigurumi star is slightly more complex and will keep you busy for a little longer!

But don’t get discouraged. I have included plenty of step-by-step photos to guide you through the process of crocheting this little star!

How do you crochet a 3D Star?

There are two main ways you can go about crocheting an Amigurumi star:

  • From the points to the center – You first make 5 or more points starting from the tip and working increases. Then, join the tips and fill the central hole by working decreases.
  • From the center to the points – You start by making the two sides of the body of the star and then crochet each point directly on the body.

In this post, we’ll see how to crochet a star with the second method, which is from the center out.

The main advantage of this method is that the center of the star will look nice and neat because it will be the part crocheted by increasing and not decreasing!
