Heart granny squares are ideal for crocheting throws and Afghans, bay blankets, Valentine’s Day creations, cushion covers, granny square sweaters, hats, scarves, and other accessories, and so much more!
How do you crochet a square with a heart?
To crochet a heart square you can use several techniques, but the most common ones are:
- Classic granny squares with specific color changes to make a heart in the middle;
- Crocheting a flat heart and adding more stitches around it so that it turns into a square;
- Quilt-style squares using solid and half-and-half granny squares;
- Mosaic crochet, filet crochet, and bobble stitches;
- Corner-to-corner (C2C) heart charts.
All techniques create beautiful hearts squares and you can choose your favorite one based on what you need to crochet.
