The Color Salad Baby Blanket is a fun and easy granny square blanket with a soft, solid fabric. This free crochet pattern comes in two sizes for the stroller and the crib.
When crocheting baby blankets, safety should always be a priority. That’s why any patterns with too many holes should be avoided because the fingers of the little ones can stay trapped in the gaps of the crocheted fabric.
So, even though I love granny square blankets, I never made a classic granny square baby blanket because you know granny squares… They’ve got lots of holes!
But the granny squares that I used for my Color Salad Baby Blanket are different since they don’t have any gaps or holes even at the corners of the squares.
This crochet baby blanket pattern is colorful and fun to make, and it can also help you destash a little!
Just mix and match all the little bits of leftover yarn and crochet the cutest baby blanket.
You can customize this pattern to make a blanket of the exact size you need. Here, I wrote the instructions to make the blanket in two sizes, for a stroller and a crib.

About : Eye Granny Square
I bought your pattern “granny halloween square” – cute pattern! – but i don’t know how to embroider a little shadow in the upper left corner of round 1.
Please, help me.
thank you,
Hi,
Lindsey from Winding Road Crochet has a nice tutorial on YouTube on how to embroider on crochet. You can find it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cn3t-BrUNDI
but of course, for the eye granny square, it’s going to be much easier.
You can simply thread some yarn into your tapestry needle, and draw the yarn from the wrong side of your work to the right side in the spot where you want to make the shadow. Then, insert the needle from the right side of your square to the wrong side forming a straight stitch, a sort of diagonal. Repeat these steps a couple of times going through the same stitches so that the shadow gets puffy and clearly visible. Finally, weave in your ends 🙂
