The Proserpina 12″ Afghan Square is a simple and elegant crochet block with a repetitive and easy-to-memorize lace motif.
The lace motif of the Proserpina Square is the same as the one of the Proserpina V-Stitch Shawl, and it is obtained with a combination of V-stitches and V-puff stitches.
You can use several of these afghan blocks to crochet a blanket, or you can combine them with other 12″ (30.5 cm) squares, including a simple solid granny square (their stitch count is always the same for the two patterns!).
The Unraveled Mitten CAL
The Proserpina Square is featured in the 2023 Stash-Busting Mystery Crochet Along by Heather of The Unraveled Mitten.
During the CAL, there will be a total of 20 square patterns, and Heather will also provide instructions on how to join the squares and a pattern for the border.
The CAL is completely free and you can join any time.
Just take a look at the main CAL page HERE and follow the links to all the squares!
