This Home Sweet Home C2C crochet block is the newest pattern that I transformed into a cute Nordic-style potholder for my kitchen decor.
If you’re not a fan of cooking and kitchen makes, you can still crochet this pattern and instead of a potholder, you can make it into anything you like!
For example, with this Home Sweet Home Square, you can make anything from C2C afghan squares to pillowcases, wall hangings, wearables, and so much more!
But of course, if you’d like to join me and make a potholder, I’d love it!
Moreover, the mini-C2C stitch is awesome for hot pads because it creates a very solid and thick fabric.
How TO MINI-C2C CROCHET
If you’re new to C2C crochet, I have a couple of tutorials, including videos, which can guide you in learning the mini-C2C crochet stitch.
- Learn the basics of how to crochet the mini-C2C stitch;
- How to change colors and carry yarn in mini-C2C;
- And how to add a single crochet border around your mini-C2C block.

If you’d like to make this block into a potholder, make a hanging loop as follows. Sl st 2 until next ch-1 sp, ch 20, sl st back into same ch-1 space. Ch 1, turn to WS, sc 25 inside the ch-20 ring. Sl st into the initial ch-1 space at the corner.
Fasten off and weave in all your ends.
