Easy Daisy Flower Appliques – Free Crochet Patterns

When spring arrives with all the new colors of nature, it is time to get some flowers on our hooks. So, here are my free patterns for two cute crochet Daisy Flower Appliques to help you add some spring into your crochet life!

MATERIALS

  • A small amount of Yarn of Choice
  • Appropriate Hook Size
  • Tapestry Needle

Color Reference

For my daisies, I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK and a 3.5-mm (E/4 USA, 9 UK) hook.

  • CA – Mustard Yellow (424)
  • CB – Champagne White (403)

SIZE

When working with DK Weight Yarn and a 3.5-mm (E/4 USA, 9 UK) hook, you can expect the following sizes for your daisies:

  • Small Daisy – 1.2″ (3 cm)
  • Large Daisy – 2″ (5 cm)

GAUGE

This pattern is too small to accurately determine the gauge.

CROCHET ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS)

Ch – Chain
Dc – Double Crochet
MC – Magic Circle
Sc – Single Crochet
Sk – Skip
Sl St – Slip Stitch
St – Stitch
Tr – Treble Crochet
Yo – Yarn over

SPECIAL STITCHES

PATTERN NOTES

  • If the pattern says “sc 2”, it means that you have to crochet 1 sc in each of the next two sts.
  • (…) – Repeat the instruction within round brackets for the indicated number of times.
  • […] – Repeat all the instructions within square brackets into the same indicated st.

Small Daisy Flower APPLIQUE – PATTERN

With CA, make a MC.
Round 1. Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc 6 in the MC. Join the round with a sl st into the first st or with an invisible join. (6 sts)

Fasten off CA leaving a long tail for later sewing your applique on your project.

Join CB in any st from round 1.
Round 2. [Ch 2, dc 1, ch 2, sl st 1] in the same st where you joined. ([Sl st 1, ch 2, dc 1, ch 2, sl st 1] in the next st) 5 times. (6 petals)

Fasten off CB and weave in your ends.

Large Daisy Flower Applique – Pattern

With CA, make a MC.

Round 1. Ch 2 (does not count as a st), dc 12 in the MC. Join the round with a sl st into the first st or with an invisible join. (12 sts)

Fasten off CA leaving a long tail for later sewing your applique on your project.

Join CB in any st from round 1.
Round 2. [Ch 3, tr 1, ch 3, sl st 1] in the same st where you joined. ([Sl st 1, ch 3, tr 1, ch 3, sl st 1] in the next st) 11 times. (12 petals)

Fasten off CB and weave in your ends.

    I was just curious how you did the daisy that has a really big middle. I am trying to count the rounds and just figure it out myself, but my vision is really failing me… Thank you so much!
