Ready to make a rainbow? Learn how to crochet a rainbow Amigurumi with this free pattern in 2 sizes!
Depending on the yarn and hook you use, the size of the large rainbow Amigurumi will be somewhere between 3.5″ (9 cm) and 5.7″ (12 cm), making it perfect for cute wall-hanging decorations, stuffed toys, baby mobiles, and much more.
On the other hand, the small rainbow Amigurumi is between 2″ (5.2 cm) and 2.8″ (7.2 cm) so it is ideal for making small keychains, backpack charms, stroller toy chains, pacifier clips, etc.
I’m crocheting rainbows and other weather-themed Amigurumi because I want to assemble a weather baby mobile, and I’ll share more about it as soon as I have it ready.
But for now, I hope you’ll enjoy this free pattern for an Amigurumi rainbow in 2 sizes!

Dealing with the ends
There’s no need to weave in your ends every time you switch colors.
When you’re done with the last round of the rainbow, simply turn your work, pair the ends as shown in photo 8, and knot them together (photo 9).
Remember to leave the first and last ends (indicated by the pink arrows in photo 8) free for sewing your rainbow.
Move on to assembly.

Assembly of the Rainbow
Fold your rainbow in half so that the red/pink tail sits exactly in the middle on one side (photo 10).
Using the long red/pink tail, sew the outer edge of the rainbow using the whip stitch or your preferred sewing method (photos 11-14).
Then, using the long, initial tail in purple, sew the corresponding sts on the first round of the rainbow (photos 15-16).
Before closing the entire row, stuff your rainbow Amigurumi (photo 17).
Fasten off and weave in your last end.
