The crochet Puff Stitch Flower Square is a puffy and soft granny square pattern that is great for your Afghans and other creations using granny squares.
This granny square has a simple 6-petal flower motif in the middle made entirely using puff stitches.
You can have fun crocheting the different rounds of the flower with a gradient of colors, or trying more adventurous color combos.

Puff Stitch Flower Square – Free Crochet Pattern
Make a MC.
Round 1. Ch 1 (does not count as a st here and throughout), sc 6 in MC, sl st in the first st to join. (6 sts)
Round 2. Ch 1, (puff 1, ch 3) 6 times, sl st in the first puff to join. (6 puffs, 6 ch-3 sps)
Round 3. Ch 1, sl st in first ch-3 sp, [(puff 1, ch 2) twice] in each ch-3 sp from the previous round, sl st in the first puff to join. (12 puffs, 12 ch-2 sps)
Round 4. Ch 1, sl st in first ch-2 sp, *[(puff 1, ch 2) twice] in first ch-2 sp. In the next 2 ch-2 sps, (puff 1, ch 2). Repeat from * 4 times. Sl st in the first puff to join. (16 puffs, 16 ch-2 sps)
Round 5. Ch 1, sl st in first ch-2 sp of the previous round. Working in ch-2 sps of round 4, *[sc 3], [hdc 1, dc 2] in next sp, [dc 1, tr 2, ch 2, tr 2, dc 1] in next sp, [dc 2, hdc 1] in next sp. Repeat from * 4 times, sl st in first sc to join. (15 sts on each side, 1 ch-2 sp at each corner)
Round 6. Ch 1 (does not count as a st), hdc in each st around. At the corners, [hdc 2, ch 2, hdc 2]. Sl st in the first hdc to join. (19 sts on each side, 1 ch-2 sp at each corner)
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
