The contrasting colors of\nthis trivet are fun and eye-catching. To obtain this effect, I used a bright minty\ncolor for the body of the trivet and yellow or pink for the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Summer Mint Trivet is worked in consecutive rows and\nyou do not have to turn your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this project, I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00MEHLNO4\/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B00MEHLNO4&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=raffamusadesi-20&amp;linkId=412de59b6448035854445fe3ff834dc9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hoooked Zpagetti yarn<\/a>. You might have guessed by now that I am in love with T-shirt yarn and in particular with Hoooked Zpagetti. In general, T-shirt yarn is great for making anything for the home decor. If you do not believe me, check out my <a href=\"https:\/\/raffamusadesigns.com\/popcorn-bath-rug\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Popcorn Bath Rug<\/a>, or my <a href=\"https:\/\/raffamusadesigns.com\/sea-waves-basket\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sea Waves Basket<\/a>, or my <a href=\"https:\/\/raffamusadesigns.com\/crochet-heart-basket\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heart Basket<\/a>. On top of that, Hoooked Zpagetti yarn is entirely produced from recycled cotton. Isn\u2019t that great?! Like with all other T-shirt yarns, your hands might ache a bit from working with big hooks and thick yarn. However, it is also quite stretchy, so it might get tricky when it comes to keeping your work tension. My advice is to never pull on the Zpagetti yarn too much while crocheting. This way you will avoid distorted or uneven stitches.<\/li><li>Hoooked Zpagetti is quite homogenous in thickness. However, some parts might be much narrower. This can result in smaller stitches and uneven texture. To avoid unpleasant gaps in your finished item, I\u2019d suggest you crochet two stitches together whenever you notice your yarn getting thinner.<\/li><li>Do not trust the knots that are already made to join the strands of yarn. They will most likely come undone while your crocheting or after you wash your crocheted piece. The best is to sew the ends together or to make a knot yourself.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pattern Notes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The trivet is worked in consecutive rows and you do not need to turn your work.<\/li><li>The main pattern motif is (1 hdc, 1 ch). Join by sl st into the first st. (16 sts)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. <\/strong>Ch 1, *(1 hdc, 1 ch)\ntwice in each 1-ch from the previous row. Join by sl st into the first st. (32\nsts)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>Ch 1, *(1 hdc, 1 ch) twice in the first 1-ch from the previous row. (1 hdc, 1 ch) in the next 1-ch*. Repeat in between * until the end. (80 sts)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To join the stitches in the final row, remove the hook from the last loop and pull the yarn toward the back of the work (top left panel in the figure below).
