In this super quick tech tutorial, I’d like to show you how to update a pattern you purchased in your Ravelry library.
Updating a pattern on Ravelry is a quick way to get the latest available file directly in your library at no extra cost to you.
When do you need to update a pattern on Ravelry?
Let’s say for example that the author of the pattern uploads a new version of the file because there was a small mistake in the previous version. Then, you’ll most likely receive a notification and an e-mail saying that there is a new version of the file ready for you to get.
Or maybe you joined a crochet along (CAL) or knit along (KAL) on Ravelry and you need to get the latest part of the pattern.
So, how do you do that?
Let’s take a look!
1. Log in
Navigate to ravelry.com and log in to your account!
2. Go to your Library
On the top, right corner of your screen, click on “my notebook”. A drop-down menu will open. Click on “Library”, which is the last item on the menu.
3. Find the pattern to update
Scroll through your library until you find the pattern that needs to be updated.
When you find the pattern, you’ll see a light blue box that says “Update”. Click on that box.
In the example in the pictures, I’ll be updating the Friendship Square pattern by Sunflower Cottage Crochet.
4. Update the Pattern
After you click on the light blue box below the pattern, a pop-up window will open, like the one shown in the picture below. Click on the “Update this pattern” box at the top, right corner.
5. Download your new file
Finally, you can download your updated pattern!
I hope this quick tech tutorial was useful.
