Tunisian Crochet Trellis Lace Scarf – (Free Pattern with Video!)

The Tunisian crochet Trellis Lace Scarf is a simple and beautiful scarf that is perfect for Fall and Winter.

This pattern mostly uses one stitch from start to end, which makes this scarf the right project for practicing a new stitch while enjoying a mindless crochet evening on the couch.

So, what’s the stitch? Remember the Tunisian crochet Trellis Stitch I shared a while ago? (Take a look at the close-up picture below. Isn’t it cute?!)

The Trellis stitch creates a sort of diagonal texture with little holes in between. So, it is not a solid, heavy stitch and at the same time, it is not too light or too full of holes.

It’s Slanting – What do I do?

Since the Tunisian trellis stitch progresses in a diagonal direction, it will tend to bias your project and make it slant to the left (or right if you are left-handed).

If you notice this sort of diagonal slant going on, there are two things you can do:

  • Aggressive blocking (which I still need to do on my scarf)
  • Or go up in hook size!

So, even though I used a 7 mm hook for a light DK yarn, you might even think about using your 8 mm hook for the same yarn!
