The tapestry crochet Sea Waves Potholder is one of the two patterns that I made for the month of August as part of my tapestry collection A Year of Potholders.
For making this potholder, I used tapestry crochet and Aran-weight cotton yarn. Just the perfect mix for a thick and solid hot pad that you can actually use safely while cooking!
This is not the first time that I crochet sea waves using tapestry crochet. Maybe you remember the Sea Waves Basket pattern?
Ever since I made that basket, I knew I wanted to create other kitchen accessories inspired by life at the beach and the ocean.
Because after all these years, even though I don’t live by the sea anymore, I like surrounding myself with things that remind me of the beach and the beautiful sound of the waves!
