Double Crochet Triangle Shawl or Scarf – Pattern + VIDEO Tutorial

Learn how to crochet a super simple double crochet triangle shawl or scarf and make a staple accessory for your wardrobe!

Double Crochet Triangle Shawl - Raffamusa Designs

This pattern is a very basic and simple one to make a scarf or shawl using only double crochet stitches.

You can crochet this triangle shawl using any yarn with the appropriate hook. So, it’s perfect for any yarn you might already have in your stash!

For one of my samples, I used some fingering weight gradient cake in beautiful blue shades and made a summer shawl for my sister. Even though she’ll actually use it as a cover-up for the beach!

For the other triangle shawl I made, I used Aran-weight acrylic yarn and kept the triangle a bit smaller. The result is a super fashionable triangle scarf!

Whatever yarn you’re going to use, just remember to use the appropriate hook (you might want to go one or two hook sizes up compared to the recommended ones for extra softness!), and get ready to enjoy a simple and relaxing pattern!

This triangle shawl pattern comes with written instructions, step-by-step photos, and a video tutorial, which you can find HERE.

Grow your triangle scarf or shawl as follows:

  • Turn, ch-less dc 1, [dc 2] more in the first st;
  • Dc 1 in each of the next dc sts on the first side;
  • [Dc 1, ch 2, dc 1] in the next ch-2 sp;

Complete your shawl with fringes.
