Double Crochet Solid Pentagon - No Gaps! - Raffamusa Designs

We already saw how to crochet a solid pentagon using double crochet. And in a way, this pentagon pattern is similar in that it mostly uses double crochet stitches.

However, this new pattern is completely solid! It doesn’t have any holes, not even at the corners.

Round 1

Make a MC.

Alternatively, you can ch 4 and sl st into the first ch to form a ring, or ch 4 and crochet the first round in the first-made ch.

Round 1. Ch 2 (does not count as a st here and throughout), dc 15, sl st in first st to join. (15 dc)

Round 2

Round 2. Ch 2, [dc 1, tr 1, dc 1] in first st (same st as joining previous round, indicated by the black arrow in photo 1), dc inc 1, dc 1 (photo 2). ([Dc 1, tr 1, dc 1] in next st, dc inc 1, dc 1) 4 times, sl st in first st to join. (25 dc, 5 tr)

Round 5. Ch 2, dc in each dc from the previous round, [dc 1, tr 1, dc 1] in each tr, sl st into first st to join. (55 dc, 5 tr)

Continue to grow your pentagon following the same pattern logic as for round 5.

With each round, your double crochet stitch count will increase by 10 sts!

  1. I might be going slightly mad, but by my count the number of double crochets you’ve stated for round 2 up appear to be 5 more than they should be? I just made a pentagon and the number for double crochets seems to be the total for the “round”? Again, might be wrong. This pattern was super great to find though! Super useful, thank you! 🙂

    • Hi, you’re totally right. I first wrote the total stitch count, then decided to split the count for the double crochets and the trebles but forgot to subtract the tr from the total count…Anyhow, I corrected it now. Thanks for letting me know 🙂
