Crochet Oak Leaf Applique - Raffamusa Designs

Materials

  • Any yarn
  • Appropriate crochet hook size

For my leaves, I used DK (3, light) acrylic yarn and a 3.5 mm (E/4 US, 9 UK) hook.

Size

When crocheted with DK acrylic yarn and a 3.5-mm hook, you can expect a leaf of about 2.9″ by 1.7″ (7.4 by 4.2 cm).

  • Dc – Double Crochet
  • Inc – Increase
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • Sl St – Slip Stitch
  • St – Stitch

Crochet Oak Leaf Applique – Free Pattern

Ch 10.

Round 1. Sc 3 starting from the second ch from hook, hdc 3, dc 2, [dc 6] in the last ch. Crocheting on the other side of initial ch-10, dc 2, hdc 3, sc 3. Ch 4, sl st 3 starting from the second ch from hook. Do not join the round but continue to crochet in the round. (10 dc sts, 6 hdc sts, 6 sc sts, 3 sl sts)

Round 2. Sc 1 in first st, [hdc 2, ch 1, sl st 1] in next st, sl st 2, [ch 1, dc 1], [dc 1, ch 1, sl st 1], sl st 2, [hdc 1, dc 1], [dc 1, hdc 1, ch 1, sl st 1], ch 1, [hdc 1, dc 1], [dc 1, hdc 1, ch 1, sl st 1], [sl st 1, ch 1, hdc 1, dc 1], [dc 1, hdc 1], sl st 2, [sl st 1, ch 1, dc 1], dc 1, ch 1, sl st 2, [sl st 1, ch 1, hdc 2], sc 1. Leave remaining sts unworked.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
