The Little Presents Appliques are the new crochet pattern from the Christmas Appliques Collection.

I first used these appliques to decorate one of my granny squares from the Christmas Granny Squares, and then, one of the Valentine’s Day granny squares. This year, since I decided to make personalized Christmas cards for my family and friends, I also used these cute presents to make a Christmas card.

But you could also use them to make birthday gift tags and cards, little decorative garlands, or some cute earrings!

There are so many possibilities. So, grab your favorite colors (scrap yarn is great for these…), and let’s crochet a few present appliques!

A small amount of Yarn of Choice
Appropriate Hook Size

I used Schachenmayr Catania in the following colors:

Color A – Red (00115)
Color B – Moss (00412) (Dark Green)
Color C – Apple (00205) (Light Green)
Color D – Natural (00105)
Dahlia (00409)
Lavender (00226)
Strawberry (00258)
Tiled Blue (00380)
Mallard (00400)

SIZE

With Sport (2, Fine) weight cotton yarn (I used Schachenmayr Catania) and a 2.5-mm (C/2 US, 12 UK) hook, these are the final measurements of each present:

Present 1 – 0.9″ (2.3 cm) by 0.8″ (2 cm)
Present 2 – 1.4″ (3.5 cm) by 1″ (2.5 cm)
Present 3 – 0.6″ (1.5 cm) by 1.4″ (3.5 cm)
Present 4 – 2.4″ (6 cm) by 1″ (2.5 cm)

GAUGE

This pattern is too small to accurately determine the gauge. Just keep in mind that the final size will depend on the yarn and hook you use.
