The Little Christmas Present Amigurumi is a quick and fun project for the Holidays! Crochet one as a Christmas tree ornament or as a gift tag for your presents.
But actually, these little present boxes are perfect for any occasion! Just play around with the colors and you can make it for birthdays, baby showers, graduations, etc.
The concept of this amigurumi is very simple. We will just crochet a square box and put a lid on it. Then, finish everything off with a nice bow!
For the bow, I used a simple strand of yarn, but you can dig into your craft box and use some old ribbons and cords.

- 3.5 mm (E/4 USA, 9 UK) Crochet Hook
- Aran (4, Medium) Weight Yarn in 2 Contrasting Colors (A and B)
- One Stitch Marker (to work in the round)
- Poly-Fil or Cotton Stuffing
- Tapestry Needle
Feel free to use any yarn with the appropriate hook size.

Box
(Work in the round)
With A, make a MC.
Round 1. Sc 6 in MC. (6 sts)
Round 2. Sc inc 6. (12 sts)
Round 3. ([Sc 3], sc 2) 4 times. (20 sts)
Round 4. Sc 1, ([sc 3], sc 4) 3 times, [sc 3], sc 3. (28 sts)
Round 5. Third-loop sc around. (28 sts)
Round 6. BLO sc 1, sc 27. (28 sts)
Rounds 7-9. Sc around. (28 sts)
Round 10. Third-loop sc 1, (third-loop sc3tog, third-loop sc 4) 3 times, third-loop sc3tog, third-loop sc 3. (20 sts)
Round 11. (Sc3tog, sc 2) 4 times. (12 sts)
Fasten off leaving a long tail, and stuff your amigurumi.
Close the last 12 sts by drawing the yarn tail through the FLO of round 11 with alternating movements from the center-out and out-center.
Weave in all your ends.
Lid

With A, make a MC.

Fasten off and close the round with an invisible join.
Weave in all your ends.
Assembly
Place the lid on the top side of the box (last rounds).
Cut a length of B of approximately 15″ (38 cm) and use it to wrap a ribbon and tie a bow around the present.
