Today, I would like to continue my series of small crochet embellishments with this quick and easy crochet Lemon Applique.
It seems like fruit has been a great source of inspiration for my recent crochet appliques, and what can I say? I love this new fruity touch to my blog!
I am also planning on sticking these fruit appliques all over my potholders and kitchen towels, so my kitchen will definitely get quite some crochet color soon.

Not only appliques…
If you’re not a fan of small appliques, you could make these lemons into coasters by using some super bulky yarn!
For example, I made one lemon using Hoooked Zpagetti T-shirt yarn and a 10 mm crochet hook, and made a nice lemon coaster for our garden table!
One more option is to turn the large lemon applique into a granny square! You can find the free pattern of the lemon granny square HERE.

instructions for the small lemon seem to be missing some stitches-circle has 12 st, but then round 2 seems to only have st for 10 of the 12 in the circle? I would appreciate your help. Many thanks.
Hi Lori,
I think that the confusion is caused by my wording.
When I say “2 sc inc”, that means that you have to make one increase into each of the next 2 sts. If you count the sts again, you’ll see that they add up to the right number…
I guess I’ll try to reword the pattern to make it easier to follow.
In the meantime, I hope I answered your question. Otherwise, don’t hesitate to ask again 🙂
Best,
Raffaella
