Crochet Glitzy Bolero - Raffamusa Designs

The fine elegance of this lace Glitzy Bolero will add a touch of glamour to the most simple of your outfits! Crocheted in Worsted-weight yarn, this crochet shrug works up quickly and comes in 4 sizes.

Crochet Bolero

A bolero is essentially a tight shrug or a sort of short jacket. You may also call them arm warmers or sweater sleeves.

Whatever you may call them, boleros are perfect for chill Spring and Summer nights but they can also complete your outfit for Winter events.

For example, I made two samples of my Glitzy Bolero. For the first one, I used some soft, Pima cotton by Katia, which is perfect for Summer and Spring.

For the second sample I made, I used a glitzy wool/acrylic blend, and my bolero turned out to be the perfect, shiny accessory for a New Year’s Eve party!

How to Crochet The Glitzy Bolero

The Glitzy Bolero is crocheted as one piece, starting from the back panel, which is crocheted bottom-up using a beautiful lacy shell stitch.

Then, the sleeves are crocheted on the sides of the back panel working in rows.

Once the sleeves are complete, they are seamed, and the lapel is crocheted working in rows along the sleeves and top side of the back panel.

Finally, the border is added all around the bolero.
