Materials

  • 2.75-mm (C/2 USA, 12 UK) Crochet Hook
  • DK (3, Light) Yarn
  • Tapestry Needle
  • 2 Safety Eyes, 5 mm
  • Stuffing

Yarn

I used Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK (137 yds (125 m) per 50 g) in the following colors:

  • Pink – Bubblegum Pink (451) or color of choice
  • Green – Grass Green (430)
  • Black – Pure Black (402)

Back Loop Only (BLO)

One increase consists of 2 sts worked in the same indicated st.

Size

2.4″ (6 cm) long by 1.4″ (3.5 cm) at the largest point.

This pattern is too small to accurately determine the gauge.

Crochet in the round working in a spiral.

With pink, make a MC.

Round 1. Sc 6. (6 sts)

Round 2. (Sc inc 1, sc 2) twice. (8 sts)

Round 3. (Sc inc 1, sc 3) twice. (10 sts)

Round 4. Sc 2, sc inc 1, sc 4, sc inc 1, sc 2. (12 sts)

Round 5. (Sc inc 1, sc 5) twice. (14 sts)

Round 6. Sc 3, sc inc 1, sc 6, sc inc 1, sc 3. (16 sts)

Round 7. (Sc inc 1, sc 7) twice. (18 sts)

Round 8. Sc 4, sc inc 1, sc 8, sc inc 1, sc 4. (20 sts)

Round 9. (Sc inc 1, sc 9) twice. (22 sts)

Round 10. Sc 5, sc inc 1, sc 10, sc inc 1, sc 5. (24 sts)

Round 11-14 (4 rounds). Sc around. (24 sts)

Attach the safety eyes between rounds 12 and 13 at 5 sts of distance.

Round 15. Sc 1, (inv dec 1, sc 2) 5 times, inv dec 1, sc 1. (18 sts)

Start stuffing your Amigurumi.

Rounds 16. (Inv dec 1, sc 1) 6 times. (12 sts)

Fasten off and make an invisible join.

Join green in any st from round 16.

Round 17-18 (2 rounds). Sc 12. (12 sts)

Finish stuffing your Amigurumi.

Round 19. BLO inv dec 6. (6 sts)

Fasten off and close the last 6 sts together.

Weave in your ends.

Finishing

With a length of black, embroider a smiling mouth on round 11.

Fasten off and weave in all your ends.

    Quick question on the Christmas light pattern: round 17 seems to be missing on my feed. Would I do another round in pink or switch to green? Thank you for clarification.
