The crochet Christmas Baubles Appliques are small crochet embellishments that are perfect for all sorts of creations for the Holidays.
For example, you could use these appliques for making some cute Christmas squares, blankets, and pillows. Or you could make some super festive earrings, magnets, or DIY Christmas cards!

AD-FREE DOWNLOADABLE PATTERN

MATERIALS
- A small amount of Yarn of Choice
- Appropriate Hook Size
- Tapestry Needle
COLOR REFERENCE
- A – Green
- B – Red
- C – White
SIZE
The pattern comes in 2 sizes, Small, and Large.
With Sport weight cotton yarn (I used Schachenmayr Catania) and a 2.5-mm (C/2 US, 12 UK) hook, your baubles will measure:
- Small – 0.8″ (2 cm)
- Large – 1.3″ (3.3 cm)
GAUGE
This pattern is too small to accurately determine the gauge. Just keep in mind that the final size will depend on the yarn and hook you use.
CROCHET ABBREVIATIONS (US TERMS)
BLO – Back Loop Only
Ch – Chain
Dc – Double Crochet
Inc Increase
MC – Magic Circle
Sc – Single Crochet
Sl St – Slip Stitch
St – Stitch
Yo – Yarn over
SPECIAL STITCHES

Increase (Inc)
One increase consists of 2 sts worked in the same indicated st. The pattern states whether you need to work a sc, hdc, or dc inc.
Magic Circle (MC)
Read all about the magic circle or adjustable ring HERE.
PATTERN NOTES
- If the pattern says to “sc 2”, it means that you have to crochet 1 sc in each of the next two sts.
- (…) – Repeat the instruction within round brackets for the indicated number of times.
- […] – Crochet the instruction within square brackets all in the same indicated st.

CROCHET Christmas Baubles APPLIQUES – FREE CHRISTMAS PATTERNS
SMALL Bauble APPLIQUE
With A or B, make a MC.
Round 1. Ch 2 (does NOT count as a st), dc 12 in MC. Join the round with a sl st into the first dc. (12 sts)
Fasten off and weave in all your ends.
Bauble Cap
Join C in the last st of Round 1.
Row 1. Sc 1 in the same st where your joined, sc 1 in the first st of Round 1.
Fasten off.
Finishing
Using a length of C (or the tails from the bauble cap) and your tapestry needle, decorate your bauble by embroidering some Christmas motifs on it.
Finally, weave in all your ends.
Large Bauble APPLIQUE
With A or B, make a MC.
Round 1. Ch 2 (does NOT count as a st), dc 12 in MC. Join the round with a sl st into the first dc. (12 sts)
Round 2. Ch 2 (does NOT count as a st), dc inc 12. Join the round with a sl st into the first dc. (24 sts)
Fasten off and weave in all your ends.
Bauble Cap
With C, ch 3.
Row 1. Sc 1 in the second ch from your hook, sc in next ch. (2 sts)
Row 2-3. Ch 1, (does NOT count as a st), turn. BLO sc 2. (2 sts)
Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
Finishing
Using the tail of the Bauble Cap, sew the long edge of the cap applique (sides of rows 1-3) to the top of the bauble.
Then, with a length of C and your tapestry needle, decorate the bauble with embroidery motifs.
Weave in all your ends.
