Crochet a cute rainbow bear baby rattle for your baby cub or as a gift for a baby shower!
This particular shape of rattling toy is very versatile and you can make almost any animal with it.
So, after crocheting the butterfly and bee baby rattles, I thought it would be fun to add a bear to the collection.
For the handle, I used rainbow colors so that the bear would be more colorful and also perfect for all the rainbow babies, i.e. babies born after miscarriage or baby loss.
For my bear, I used some acrylic, Sport-weight yarn but of course, it would be better to use cotton, which is safer for babies to chew!

Assembly
With a length of dark brown, use the whip stitch to sew the bottom of the head (part of the skipped 52 sts on round 27) starting from the sts closer to the handle and moving on to the other side until you have 20 sts left in total (use photo 4 as an example even though colors are different).
While sewing, stuff your Amigurumi and insert the rattle ball in the center. Stuff the handle too. Use a pencil or hook to push the stuffing through the entire length of the handle.
Slide the two wooden rings on the handle, bend the handle, and bring its open end near the 20-stitch opening at the bottom of your Amigurumi (photo 5).
Using the long tail of red yarn from the last round of the handle, sew the handle to the open sts of the head (photo 6).
Sew the ears on the side of the head, and the snout in the front, center. Before sewing the snout completely, stuff it.
Sew the nose on the snout. Then, embroider the mouth and the eyes with a length of black.
Weave in all your ends.
