Crochet Alpine Christmas Stockings – Jumbo to Mini

Crochet a set of Alpine Christmas stockings for the entire family and add a mini stocking ornament to your Christmas tree!

Alpine Christmas Stockings in 4 Sizes - Raffamusa Designs

If you’ve been crocheting for a while, you know that the Alpine stitch is the best and absolutely favorite stitch for some cozy decorations for the Holiday season!

So, of course, I used the Alpine stitch to crochet my set of Christmas stockings in four different sizes from jumbo to mini. Because more size options are always better and can always come in handy.

The mini Alpine stocking is more of a Christmas tree ornament rather than an actual stocking.

As you can see in the picture below, I tried several yarn and hook combinations to see how small the stocking would be.

Crochet Mini Alpine Christmas Stockings - Raffamusa Designs

The tiniest stocking was the one that I made using DK cotton yarn and a 3.0 mm hook. As you can see below, the stocking is about for fingers tall and it’s perfect as a hanging ornament or a festive keychain.

On the other hand, the one that I made with Aran weight yarn and a 5.0 mm hook is definitely bigger and could be a cute gift card holder.

Since I had a lot of scraps in my stash, I also tried to use some leftover yarn and made a stocking alternating colors every other 2 rows. The result is quite cute and festive!
